Meeting to Collect Input on Second Report for Implementing the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights


Phnom Penh – On Wednesday morning, H.E Sok Buntha, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, led a meeting aimed at gathering valuable input on the concluding observations for Cambodia’s Second Report on the “Implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights.”

The purpose of the meeting was to prepare the Royal Government’s Conclusive Implementation Plan. Various relevant units and departments, including representatives from the Cambodia National Council for Children, the Disability Action Council, the National Social Assistance Fund, the Director General of Social Services, the Director General of Rehabilitation, the Child Welfare Department Director, and the Disability Welfare Department Representative, participated in the meeting.

Following the collection of input, the meeting’s chairman will collaborate with technical officers to present the Royal Government’s conclusion in a dissemination workshop scheduled for October 30, 2023, focusing on the “Implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights.”
