Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation showcased various activities, action plans, and publications outlining strategic plans, laws, and legal documents related to the social sector at the “National Career and Productivity Fair 2023,” held at Koh Pich Exhibition Center for two days from November 10-11, 2023.
On November 10, 2023, H.E Heng Sour, the Minister of Labor and Vocational Training, presided over the opening ceremony of the fair. He anticipates the participation of approximately 30,000 job seekers, offering on-site interviews. The event features 188 booths representing ministries, institutions, enterprises, educational institutions, development partners, and national and international organizations, providing over 20,000 new job opportunities across key sectors such as banking, microfinance, insurance, wholesale and retail services, tourism, hospitality, food and beverage, real estate, construction, telecommunications, information technology, manufacturing, and other service sectors.
H.E Heng Sour emphasized that the National Career and Productivity Fair is a vital intervention in the labor market, serving as a hub for information and opportunities. This annual event complements the daily services provided by the National Employment Agency of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training.
The primary objective of the fair is to facilitate connections between employers and qualified job seekers, providing a platform for efficient recruitment and offering a range of job opportunities. Job seekers can benefit from career counseling, actively prepare for employment, and gain insights into enhancing productivity.
The National Career and Productivity Fair 2023 is a collaborative effort involving the National Employment Agency of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, and the Textile, Apparel, Footwear & Travel Goods Association in Cambodia (TAFTAC), with support from the International Labor Organization (ILO), People in Need Cambodia, and Swiss Contact.
