Kratie – On the morning of Friday, November 17, 2023, Her Excellency Khieu Borey, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, led the commemoration of World Children’s Day 2023, with the honorable presence of Her Excellency Ngin Lina, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Environment. The event, organized by the Plerng Kob Youth Group in collaboration with UNICEF Cambodia, celebrated the potential and achievements of children and youth in Cambodia.
The ceremony, held at the Kratie Provincial Theater, was attended by Her Excellency Bou Sophoan, Undersecretary of State, along with representatives from relevant ministries, agencies, UN agencies, non-governmental organizations, and members of the government, youth, and children, totaling 300 participants.
Spanning three days from November 17 to 19, 2023, the event featured diverse programs. These included the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Environment and provincial administrations of Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakkiri, and Mondulkiri, focusing on the campaign to reduce plastic usage under the theme “I do not use plastic bags.” The festivities also included youth competition, showcasing traditional dances, dolphin information exhibition, tree planting activities, village festivals, folk games, and more.
