Royal Government Allocates Policy Funds to Benefit 624 People with Disabilities in Phnom Penh


Phnom Penh – H.E Sorn Sophal, Director General of the General Department of Rehabilitation, Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, represented H.E Chea Somethy, Minister of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation, at the opening ceremony for the distribution of policy funds to economically disadvantaged individuals with disabilities in Khan Prek Pnov, Phnom Penh. The event, presided over by Her Excellency Keo Sokpisey, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh, witnessed the participation of key figures, including Mr. San Ratana, Director of the Disability Welfare Department, and Director of the Department of Social Affairs in Phnom Penh. Additionally, Prek Pnov District Governor, Commune Chief, Village Chief, and 624 individuals with disabilities took part in the ceremony.

During the event, H.E Director General Sorn Sophal conveyed greetings from H.E Chea Somethy to individuals with disabilities present and those across the nation. He also urged the local authorities to prioritize the identification of persons with disabilities for the issuance of Disability Identification Cards, ensuring they can access various government benefits.
