Phnom Penh: On Thursday morning, November 9, 2023, H.E Chea Somethy led a Ministry delegation in the celebration of the 70th National Independence Day at the Independence Monument and in front of the Royal Palace, presided over by His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, the King of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
During the commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces in front of the Royal Palace, Prime Minister Hun Manet affirmed the commitment of the seventh mandate government to achieving lasting peace, independence, sovereignty, and national developments. The aim is to build a progressive, strong, liberal, multi-party democracy based on the law, ensuring prosperity, dignity, and respect for human rights.
Prime Minister Hun Manet also pledged to establish an effective and non-discriminatory social protection system, ensuring financial sustainability and protecting the people from economic risks, public health, and other vulnerabilities. Additionally, he committed to completing demining efforts by 2025.
Expressing confidence in elevating Cambodian national pride to the heights of the Angkorian era, Prime Minister Samdech Hun Manet assured King Norodom Sihamoni that his government would lead Cambodia towards greater prosperity, a strengthened democracy, and robust national development.
King Norodom Sihamoni, in his address, called upon all Cambodians to unite in building a more prosperous nation in alignment with the policies of the Royal Government.
Praising the leadership of the new Prime Minister for bringing positive changes while maintaining the political path set by former Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen, the King emphasized the importance of unity for national peace, harmony, and international prominence. King Norodom Sihamoni urged all citizens to unite under the Constitution to contribute to the protection and development of the nation in all areas.
“I would like to call on all Cambodians from all walks of life to unite as one under the umbrella of the Constitution to contribute to the protection and development of the motherland in all areas,” remarked His Majesty the King.
His Majesty The King is confident that Cambodia’s peace and stability, founded on the principles of national unity, Buddhism, and the monarchy, would safeguard against external threats to Cambodian territory.
