Persons With Disabilities Foundation Donates Homes to Needy Recipients With Disabilities in Prey Veng and Takeo


Prey Veng – On October 27, 2023, H.E. Khom Phalloeun, the Royal Government of Cambodia’s Delegate in Charge of the People With Disabilities Foundation, led his team in a heartwarming ceremony. During the event, four houses were officially handed over to individuals with disabilities who have faced various challenges. The recipients of these homes included Mr. Teng Vuon, a visually impaired individual; Ms. Phon Sotchea, who grapples with mental disabilities; Ms. Nang Phally, a person living with cerebral palsy in Cheach commune, Kamchay Mear district, Prey Veng province; and Ms. Chhor Ouk, another person with disabilities residing in Damnak Reachea village, Pram Bei Mom commune, Traing district, Takeo province.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of the Prey Veng and Takeo Province Branch of the People With Disabilities Foundation and the Director of the Takeo Provincial Department of Social Affairs and Local Authorities.

Addressing the gathering, H.E. Khom Phalloeun highlighted the longstanding commitment of the Royal Government, under the guidance of H.E. Chea Somethy, Minister of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation, to the welfare of the people. This commitment is realized through a range of policies aimed at enhancing the well-being of individuals, including the provision of rehabilitation services, physical fitness, and social protection for the underprivileged.

H.E. Khom Phalloeun emphasized that the four houses provided during this event were made possible through generous donations to the charity fund for the disabled. This housing initiative reflects the Royal Government’s genuine concern for the well-being of persons with disabilities across the country and its commitment to improving the quality of life for these individuals and their families.

H.E. Khom Phalloeun extended his wishes for the families of people with disabilities moving into these new houses to enjoy good health and to be shielded from contagious diseases.

As part of the ceremony, the People With Disabilities Foundation presented gifts from the Prime Minister to the families of persons with disabilities who received the new houses. Each recipient received 100,000 Riels, 25 kg of rice, 2 packages of fermented fish, 2 packages of soy sauce, 1 package of fish sauce, 2 packets of salt, and 1 package of noodles.
