Training on Disability Identification Through Social Norm and Fundamental Rights for Municipal, District, and Commune Committees in Capital Administration


Phnom Penh: On Friday, October 6, 2023, the Department of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation partnered with the Phnom Penh Capital Administration to organize a specialized training course focused on improving disability identification using a social norms and basic rights framework. The training targeted municipal, district, and commune focal points within the Capital Administration and was presided over by Her Excellency Keo Sok Pisey, Deputy Governor of the Board of Governors of Phnom Penh. The event was participated by representatives from the Department of Planning and Disability Program Focal Persons, representing all 105 communes in Phnom Penh.

The primary objective of this training is to elevate the quality of disability identification by implementing a new version of the questionnaire grounded in social norms and fundamental rights. It sets the stage for an extended disability identification campaign aimed at reaching 100,000 individuals across the nation in the year 2023.
