Cambodian Embassy in Vientiane Facilitates Return of Six Human Trafficking Victims to Cambodia


Stung Treng: On October 6, 2023, the Department of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation of Stung Treng Province, in partnership with the Provincial Administration, the Department of Victim Protection, Caritas Cambodia, and the provincial committee for counter-trafficking, under the leadership of Mrs. Keo Savoeun, Deputy Governor of the Stung Treng Provincial Board of Governors, successfully received and provided assistance to six victims of human trafficking.

The six victims, who were rescued from the Golden Triangle region, are identified as follows:

1. Lam Sonang, aged 16, from Chhouk District, Kampot Province
2. Lang Kunthea, aged 16, from Teuk Chhou District, Kampot Province
3. Set Sida, aged 19, from Samrong Tong District, Kampong Speu Province
4. Chea Nita, aged 16, from Samrong Tong District, Kampong Speu Province
5. Su Srey Sros, aged 16, from Prey Nob District, Preah Sihanouk Province
6. Pheakdey Raksmey, aged 22, from Chamkar Mon District, Phnom Penh

These victims were repatriated from the Consulate General of Cambodia in Champasak province, Laos, at the Trapeang Kriel international border crossing, marking a significant effort in combating human trafficking and providing support to the victims.
