PWDs Fund Hands Over House to Persons With Disabilities in Banteay Meanchey



Banteay Meanchey – On December 15, 2023, H.E Roeun Rithyroath, the Royal Government of Cambodia Delegate in charge of the Director General of the General Department of Administration and Finance and Chairman of the PWDs Fund, joined by H.E Khom Phalloeun, Director of the PWDs Fund, Directors of the Provincial Department of Disability, the District Governor, the Branch of the PWDs Fund, and local authorities, oversaw the handover of a 4 by 6-meter house constructed of brick with a zinc roof to Mr. Chhorn Nam, a 45-year-old man with mental disabilities resulting from a serious work accident affecting his head.

Addressing the gathering, H.E Chairman highlighted that this marks the fourth house constructed by the National Social Assistance Fund (NSAF) for persons with disabilities in Banteay Meanchey. Overall, NSAF has built 47 houses, and this particular dwelling is the 45th officially handed over since 2019. The remaining houses will be delivered in subsequent ceremonies.

During the ceremony, NSAF also presented a donation package, including 25 kg of rice, 1 box of instant noodles, 1 package of fish sauce, 1 package of soy sauce, 2 packages of canned fish, 2 packs of salt, and 100,000 Riels. Additionally, various gift packages from the Provincial Department of Social Affairs and District Administration were provided to Mr. Chhorn Nam’s family to ease their daily life.
